The annual meeting of “International Thai Cats” took place in Munich this year.
46 breeders and lovers of Thai cats from Austria, Italy, Czech Republic and Germany came together on Friday and checked into the modern Fair Hotel H2.
After a warm welcome at the hotel we went by subway to the famous Theresienwiese to enjoy all kinds of entertainment at the 50th Spring Festival. The brave have tried ferris wheel and roller coaster.

Subsequently, all participants met at the inn “Hofer”. Here we enjoyed good Bavarian-Austrian cuisine in one of the oldest patrician buildings in Munich. Over meat loaf, sausage and potato salad the talks circled about the home region and our beloved cats. We were happy to meet again and to make new friends.

After dinner we were picked up by two ladies at the “Hofer” for a night watchman tour through downtown Munich. With flowing black capes, halberd and lantern they told us forgotten legends and showed us enchanted corners, gates, churches and graves in the dark of night.
After this exciting, as well as humorous tour all participants drove satisfied and happy by train back to the hotel and fell wearily into their beds.

The next day, the following Saturday, the participants expected after breakfast a city tour with “the white city bird” by Munich. The bus was waiting at the hotel. A nice city guide accompanied us throughout the day. After passing many attractions such as the Royal Palace of Max Vorstadt and the Angel of Peace, the bus stopped at the Nymphenburg Palace.
In a guided tour we learned many interesting things about the royal castle, its history and its noble family. The beautiful castle, completed in 1675, was for all participants really worth seeing.

Hungry we arrived at Augustiner Keller for lunch. Due to the rainy weather, it was not possible to sit in the idyllic beer garden, and so we had to enjoy the hearty Bavarian cuisine in the traditional-style hall.
Now we went on to the Bavaria Film Studios for a tour of the film city.
We walked through original houses of the film “Vicky on a long journey,” inspected the submarine of the famous movie “The Boat”, played a scene of a famous daily soap, rided on Fuchur from the “Neverending Story” and recorded a weather report in front of a green screen.
After the tour, some participants lingered in Bullyversum, drank a coffee or shopped beautiful souvenirs.
We were full of new impressions, and the bus brought us back to the hotel passing other important and famous sights of Munich like the Old and New Pinakothek and the Odeon Square.
After a short refreshment break we met for a joint dinner with pasta and rice dishes and a sweet jelly dessert. A fire alarm ended the dinner abruptly, and so we retired to the hotel bar and finished the wonderful day at a leisurely cocktail round.
After breakfast the next day, the participants met again for the official part of the meeting.
We discussed the breeding goals and the current situation in the individual countries. Carola reported in great detail about the efforts of the recognition of the Thai by the important umbrella organisation Fife.
And then a nice weekend came to the end. The organizers of this year’s ITC meeting have put together a great program for all ages, and all breeders and lovers of the ITC have spent impressive days in Munich.
