Who would like to be alone? This is probably the same in humans and animals – society is preferred. But how is the composition of the ideal “residential community”? Cat + cat or cat + dog?

First let us have a look at the first option – cat + cat!

Which cats would go together?

The cats should be something similar. That does not mean you can keep only cats of the same breed together. For example, Thai cats get along very well with other breeds.

Even the sex is not so important. Completely different things play a role!

An older cat has different needs than a giddy teenager. Therefore, the age difference should not be too large.

However, if you still want to bring a very young kitty please think about a young couple of cats. The two together could then run around, while the older cat could decide whether she wants to participate or withdraw.

In addition, the characters of the “new neighbours” should be similar.
An anxious and timid kitty will not go with a dominant cat.

The cats will not immediately like each other. This is completely normal! Sometimes the acclimation can take several weeks. Give your cats time to get used to each other and accept each other.

Now look at a few successful examples of “socialization” – you will see, the trouble is worth it!

And now for option 2 – cat and dog

Each of us knows the sentence: They are like cat and dog! Usually this phrase is used when people argue, and no agreement is in sight.

But dogs and cats can live together peacefully, even if that is not quite commonplace. But it’s possible as you can see!

Many of our breeders have both a dog and cats. The fewest problems arise if the “unequals” came together as young animals. But even later, a “peaceful coexistence” or even a friendship is entirely possible – sympathy decides!
