During Carola´s journey to Russia end of last year, she also payed a visit to friendly Thai breeders in St. Petersburg.
The Petersburg Thai breeders united in the “Petersburg Breeders´ Community of Thai Cats”. Their homepage has the beautiful designation “Thai Cats of the White Nights” („Tajskie kotki belych nocey“).
Our friendly breeders are members of this Community, too.
The two catteries Musipusi (Cattery Union, head Marina Migay) and Sanchitos (breeder Julia Urucova) cooperate closely to consolidate the Thai in their region.
Therefore, we want to introduce them together in the following report.

27th November 2007 Our train arrives in St. Petersburg. It is very cold!
We, i. e. Gunnar, Jaqueline and me, Carola – and of cause our two Thai cats Benito and Ike – are expected by Oleg, Marina Migay´s husband.
His car takes us rapidly to our hotel. From outside, this row of houses does not look like a hotel – but the rooms inside – super! Clean, warm and cosy with modern furniture. Shared bathroom, but shared kitchen as well – very pleasant!
Marina Migay lives just at the opposite side of the street. Here she comes – heartily welcome, we check in. After a short time Natalia Smirova joins us together with “Rumba Sanchitos”, a sweet blue point lady. Benito loves her at first sight – and so do I!
After a short tour around in St. Petersburg we go to visit Natascha at home. Here, Rumba and Benito already made themselves at home. In the living room we are beamed by blue eyes: mama “Thais” proudly presents her babies in a big box. Healthy, active and well-fed kittens look at us full of curiosity. But it is obvious that the little blue girl is not one of this litter. Her name is “Fimida”, she is three months old and “helps” the babies.

Later we visit Marina. Together with her husband and four children she lives in a spacious new-buildt appartment. Her cats live among the family as well. Immediately we are welcomed by „Bona Thai´s Ralun“, the beautiful seal point tomcat, by Marisol Sanchitos (seal tabby point), Amil Musipusi and Alisa (chocolate tabby point).
Gutiera-Sesil Musipusi, a chocolate point lady, is just having babies. They are 24 hours old, and so we have a look only from a distance.
Ike, our little boy, already feels at home. Boisterously he jumps through the corridor.
Marina´s neighbour Alena Grigorieva is also a member of the Cattery Union. She lives with the beautiful seal point lady “Nora” and her 6 weeks old babies. Mama and babies are quiet and peaceful, enjoying our caresses. Alena prepares a good tea for us and – as so often – we get caught in the kitchen while talking about our darlings.
Late in the evenig we return to our hotel at the opposite side of the street.

During our time in St. Petersburg Marina Migay introduced us to her friend Julia Urucova, breeder of cattery “Sanchitos”. We accepted her invitation, and once more, we enjoyed the proverbial Russian hospitality!
Not only five pretty Thai cats – Dastin Musipusi (seal point), Jan-Pier + Kalisia Sanchitos (lilac tabby point), Kalisja Sanchitos (blue point) and a nice seal point girl – purred around.
There are two Sphynx cats, too, no less smoochy. The little 6 weeks old Sphynx baby made its best efforts to conquer my heart. I cannot say, it didn´t succeed – it was too sweet!
